Song: Foo Fighters "My Hero"

November is here! Some see this as "Pre-Christmas". I see this as "Post-Halloween". On the 1st, we have *All Saints' Day*. November 6th is *Play Outside Day*. Sometime this month, we have *Daylight Saving Day*. Why we celebrate this idiocracy I may never understand. I have yet to see an argument why we do this crazy fire drill outside of the idea that it makes some people feel better. Ask the people who get in car wrecks the following week about that (There is an increase during this time). We can look forward to *Veterans Day*. The 25th is *Thanksgiving*.

I should plan on watch the *Peanuts*. I probably will forget.

* - accidental data loss and ransomware. You need to back up often and minimize human errors. One of my tricks is use use the *gnu make* Command to automate complex commands. I use it in conjunction with the *gnu diff* to make differences of old files and new files. I use that output with *gnu patch* to merge the changes. Prior to the actual implementation of the change, I manually look over the output of the diff command (Or, to put it another way, the files to be fed to the *patch* command) and look for oddities. Such as a file being completely removed or a file being created that should not be. This allows me one last chance to prevent accidental deletionn (or inadvertantly updating the wrong file).

* - An interesting happening with the FBI. This highlights the need for not only routine system maintenance, updates, and administrators, but also the need to code with security in mind. Sometimes, ease-of-use should not over-ride security. I admit, I see it rarily the case in which security should be overriden. I realize the ideal is that you can achieve security without infringing on ease-of-use. I have a hard time thinking this ever being the case: Even with banks existing as long as they have, you still have to walk through a door, observed by officials, to get access to your account.
